Our Midlands based client is a Specialist Information Systems Company focused on the provision of service led sourcing and IT solutions. They have successfully built delivery models that develop strong and long lasting relationships with their clients who span the very large and complex to smaller and simpler business needs. As a result of further expansion we seek a Sales Executive to join the team.

Consistently profitable over its history the business is now looking to grow its client and revenue base significantly to achieve its business plan. As a result it is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic IT Solutions Sales executive to drive that growth.

Role Profile:

  • Hierarchically the role reports to Sales Manager, a member of the Management board.

  • Prime responsibility of the Sales person will be to contact and develop business opportunities for software project and support services through effective targeting.

  • Be the primary contact point for Application Services RFI/RFP requests.

  • Qualify and validate opportunities to ensure a minimum 1 in 3 win rate.

  • Organise and run ‘Bid’ teams through to proposal production and presentation.

  • Develop relationship maps within new client opportunities to maximise ‘win’ chances for each campaign conducted.

  • Win new business contracts of greater than £250,000 per annum in Application development and support (legacy and component environments) services to >£1.5m per annum in total.

  • Through style and personality develop a sales led environment across the business that motivates and excites delivery teams.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate for this position has:

  • Proven skills in Sales, Sales Support or Business development in the IT sector and focused on Software and Services Sales, rather than product sales.

  • Evidence of closing business on development and contract types of greater than 3 years and in the range of £250,000 per annum to £2,000,000 per annum.

  • A continuing passion for generating new client relationships and closing new business.

  • Good understanding of competitive selling techniques.

  • Good understanding of the value to sales in delivering some the following standards. ITIL, CMM, Prince2, RUP and other ADM approaches (inc. On-shore/offshore delivery), J2EE/.net/legacy and SOA architectures. While expertise in one or more areas would be an advantage expert knowledge is not required. In all cases though a good understanding of where these terms apply and are used is essential.

  • Analytical and commercial mind that can interpret client requirements, match them to the business service areas and then build solutions that benefit the client and achieve business.

  • A capability to work within a small business environment (circa 100 person company) as distinct from large corporate with the corresponding restrictions/freedoms. An understanding and experience of both worlds is ideal.

  • The business is not sector specific however prime reference-ability resides in the Logistics, distribution and discrete Manufacturing environments. Experience of these sectors and or processes will be of advantage. 

  • High integrity, client value and delivery quality focused orientation.

  • An established network and good track record but probably feels constrained and frustrated in their current role.

  • Is looking for an opportunity to be in at the start of a high growth period and to develop seniority and visibility in the IT Sales sector by delivering success.
